For the third straight year, the Swift Current Midget AA Indians are provincial champions.

They went undefeated and finished the tournament with a 9-3 victory over the Northeast Red Sox.

The win qualifies the Midget squad for Westerns in Manitoba from August 16th to the 20th.

Swift Current dominated the tournament including a 12-2 win over the Red Sox in round robin play, a 17-8 victory over the Regina Buffaloes, an 11-1 win over Saskatoon and a 10-0 shut out of Weyburn.

They were just as dominant in the playoff round as the Midget Indians whipped Melville 12-2 in the semi-final and again dominated the Red Sox in the final.

The team also got word over the weekend that Zac Mackay was named Midget AAA league pitcher of the year. Mackay went 10-1 in SPBL play. He led the league with 70 strike outs and 5 complete games.
