A pair of victories over the visiting Briercrest Clippers were clinched last night for the Millar Edge women's and men's volleyball teams.

Playing in front of the home crowd in Pambrun, the Millar College of the Bible women's team earned a four-set victory over the Clippers.

Briercrest shot out to the lead, taking the first set 25-0, but the Edge regrouped to close with set wins of 25-14, 27-25, and 25-20.

Meanwhile, it was a nearly-identical story line in the men's match, as the Edge dropped the first set 25-12 to the Clippers.

Millar responded with a 25-18 second-set win, then adding set wins of 25-11 and 25-22.

It was the final meeting of the 2018 season for both Millar and Briercrest.

The women's Edge team won two-of-three meetings, and now sport a 4-2 record overall this year.

On the men's side, Millar earned a clean 3-0 season sweep of the Clippers. They also carry a 5-0 record overall.

A big set of games is up next on the schedule.

The Great Plains Sundogs play host to the Millar College of the Bible Edge for the annual Battle of the Southwest on November 7.

The women's teams square off at 6:30 p.m., and the men are set for 8 p.m. - both games are at OM Irwin.
