Stewart Valley's Travis Moen has announced his retirement from the NHL today following 12 seasons.

The six-foot-two, 215-pound winger played 747 career NHL games, totalling 136 points, and 801 penalty minutes.

During his career, Moen went on to win one Stanley Cup, which he played a key role in.

Moen notched seven goals and five assists with the Anaheim Ducks in their 2007 playoff run.

In game four of the Western Conference Semi-Finals, he scored the overtime winner against Vancouver.

Moen also had the game winner against Ottawa in game one of the Stanley Cup Final, before scoring twice in game five, the first of which was the Stanley Cup clinching goal.

Along with the Ducks, the forward also played for Chicago, San Jose, Montreal and Dallas.

Moen was drafted in the 5th round by the Calgary Flames in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
