The Swift Current Broncos' strength will be their defense in the opening round of playoffs.

The Broncos and the Medicine Hat Tigers begin their opening round, best-of-seven series tomorrow night at the Credit Union iplex.

The goal for the Broncos will be to shut down the Tigers' top line, which features Tyler Ennis.

In last year's playoffs, Defenseman John Negrin was with the Kootenay Ice, who defeated the Tigers in the opening round.  Acquired by the Broncos at this year's trade deadline, Negrin says targeting the Tigers' top line will be a key.  "They are three very talented players; very shifty, very quick.  Obviously, Ennis is one of the top scorers in the league.  Last year (with Kootenay), I was paired against them alongside Ian Barteaux, and one thing that was really effective is that we were physical with them and played solid defensively.  We didn't take too many chances and played a well structured, defensive game.  If we can do that, it will help a lot."

Face-off tomorrow night is at 7:30pm from the Credit Union iplex.  Pre-game playoff festivities begin at 5:30pm with a BBQ.
