They might not be the biggest names to have changed teams in the NHL yesterday but a pair of former Swift Current Broncos have new homes.

Forward Lane Pederson was dealt by the Arizona Coyotes to the San Jose Sharks early yesterday afternoon in exchange for a 4th round draft pick in 2024.

The 23-year-old was then immediately signed to a two-year contract with an average annual salary of $750,000 each season at the NHL level.

Since graduating from the Broncos at the end of the 2016-17 campaign, the Saskatoon product has spent the past four seasons in the Coyotes organization.

Pederson played for Swift Current from 2015 to 2017, appearing in 99 regular-season contests while producing 99 points.

The second ex-Bronco moved was centre Justin Dowling.

He signed a two-year contract with an average annual salary of $750,000 with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Calgary-born 30-year-old had spent the last nine seasons with the Dallas Stars organization bouncing between their AHL club and NHL team.

Last year he skated in 27 regular-season games with the Stars scoring once and adding four assists.

Dowling wore a Broncos jersey from 2006 to 2011 playing in 280 regular-season games and recorded 242 points in that time.
