Elsewhere in the world of sports...

     Vancouver beat Phoenix 2-1 after a shootout; Toronto edged Florida 2-1 in overtime; Chicago got by Ottawa 4-3, also in overtime; and Atlanta topped Montreal 3-2 in the shootout.  All four Canadian teams that were in action picked up at least a point each last night.

     Eight games are ahead today, including Ottawa visiting the New York Rangers, Edmonton heading to the Windy City to take on the Blackhawks, Vancouver visiting Colorado, Calgary hosting New Jersey, and Montreal in Dallas.

     In the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys got a big 20-13 win over the Carolina Panthers in the lone game last night.  The Cowboys can clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs if the Green Bay Packers lose to the Chicago Bears.  That game is just 1 of 13 today.  Also, the 14-0 New England Patriots take on the 1-13 Miami Dolphins in the late afternoon session.
