NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

The NHL playoffs keep delivering.

This year's first round seems to bring night after night dramatics and Tuesday's version did not disappoint with the Phoenix Coyotes beating the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime.

Mikkel Boedker scored 13:15 into overtime and the Desert Dogs took a 2-1 lead in their series.

Chicago was without Marian Hossa for most of the contest as he was carried off te ice on a stretcher following a hit by Raffi Torres.

The Florida Panthers came back from three goals down to stun the New Jersey Devils 4-3 and take a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference quarter-final series.

The Devils scored three times in just over six minutes to start the game, but were held off the board the rest of the way as Florida completed the comeback.

Nashville defeated Ian White and the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 to go up 3-1 in their series. Pekka Rinne made 40 saves as Nashville was outshot 41-17 but still got the win.
