Previously operating under the name Speedy Creek Racing, the competition saw seven cars racing in the Minis division, eight cars in the Modifieds, and 14 in the Street Stocks. It was a trial rebuilding year for the Minis to be able to gauge interest moving towards growing the division.

Sunday was hindered by a dusty track, as multiple crashes led to a drastically reduced field in the Street Stock race. Among those was a collision between Marty Sharp's #70 car and Brad Levorson's #0.

With the next set of races set in Yorkton and Tisdale this coming weekend, Sharp, a product of Yorkton, noted post-race that some work remains to get ready to race in his hometown.

The next home dates for the Swift Current Stock Car Association are June 8-9 at 7 p.m.
