A pair of Kabos Bantam AA Broncos jumped off the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft board in back-to-back picks, and are both headed west.

Captain Hayden Wilm was selected in the fifth round (106th overall) by the Kelowna Rockets. The Central Butte-born forward tied for the Bantam AA Broncos’ lead in points this past season with 54 points (23 G, 31 A) in 30 regular season games.

Just a matter of seconds later, Ryan McCleary was selected by the Portland Winterhawks with the 107th overall pick. The defenceman, and son of Broncos’ Board of Directors Chairman Trent McCleary, was dynamic from the point this past season with the Bantam AA Broncos. The new Winterhawk piled up 41 points (11 G, 30 A) in 31 games for his Bantam club.

That makes three Bantam AA Broncos selected so far, after defenceman Joe Arntsen was chosed 35th overall by the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
