The Diamond Energy Female Midget 'AAA' Wildcats pre-season tournament is once again in the books.

At this year's event, the Wildcats battled the Pembina Valley Hawks, the Lloydminster Steelers and the Westman Wildcats.

Swift Current fell 5-3 to Pembina Valley, then bounced back to defeat Lloydminster 3-1, before dropping their finale 2-1 to Westman.

Despite their 1-2 record, Head Coach Terry Pavely felt the weekend was a success.

"Right now they are like sponges. When we talk they are really trying to take in what we are saying and they are really trying to do what we are asking them to do," he said.

"We are extremely happy at this point. I think it is important now, we are going to get a good week of practice and get three practices, where we can continue to build on the skill side of things, but also start to work on things like power-play and penalty kill, which we haven't touched yet."

The Wildcats will travel to Calgary this weekend as they continue to prepare for the Regular Season.
