Jordan Peddle lifting the Ed Chynoweth Cup 

TJ Foster and Michael St. Croix had a goal and two points each to lead the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 4-1 Game 7 win over Portland Sunday night, as they captured the WHL title.

Former Bronco Jordan Peddle added an assist for the Oil Kings. The Elbow native scored 7 points in the 7 game WHL final.

Edmonton's Rhett Rachinski set the tone of the game with a goal 1:51 into the first period, Tyler Maxwell made it 2-0 with 18 seconds left in the opening frame.  St. Croix and Foster scored just under six minutes apart in the second period to make it a 4-0 lead, Portland's Oliver Gabriel score their only goal mid way thru the middle frame.

Edmonton's Laurent Brossoit made 19 saves in the deciding game and was named the series MVP.  The win vaults the Oil Kings into the MasterCard Memorial Cup which starts Friday in Shawinigan, Quebec.  Edmonton will open against the host Cataractes Friday night.
