Another resounding win last night pushed the Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos undefeated streak up to 13 games to start the season.

The Midget AA Broncos piled four goals in the back of the net in the third period to pull away from the Notre Dame Hounds in a 6-0 effort.

Defenceman Nathan McInnis had the game-winning first goal, and added his second in the third period.

"I thought it was alright, I played not bad - moved my feet, and just tried to get the pucks on net whenever I could," said the Midget AA Broncos alternate captain.

Chase Sawchuk, Quinn Patenaude, Riley Skarbon, and Cash Arntsen all scored as well for Swift.

Patenaude added two assists for a game-high three points. Meanwhile, Brad Nyen came up big on a small shot total, turning aside all 14 from the Hounds.

It was another balanced win for the Midget AA Broncos, in what seems to be a recurring trend this season.

"This is the best team I've ever been on - every night we're going to have guys going and doing their jobs for us," said McInnis. "We're a veteran club, but also we all work together well. They're a great group of guys in there, so it's good to have that too."

McInnis and the Midget AA Broncos have followed a pretty simple formula on their way to the 13-game win streak they find themselves on... score way more goals than you give up.

Swift Current scores an even five goals-per-game on average, while surrendering a province-low 1.62 goals-against. That equates to a comfortable +44 goal-differential, the best in Saskatchewan across both Midget AA leagues.

"It's good for the guys - we're getting wins, getting pucks deep, working hard in practice. It's just good to keep the boys rolling. Hopefully we keep it rolling throughout the season."

The Midget AA Broncos will have to wait to improve on their record, as they're off from league play until November 15.

However, the team's annual three-game set against the Billings Jr Bulls is on the schedule this weekend.

After taking two of three in Montana back in January of the 2017-18 season, it's Swift's turn to host.

The Midget AA Broncos and Billings Jr Bulls face off:

  • November 9 at 8 p.m. from Fairview West
  • November 10 at 7:30 p.m. from Fairview West, and
  • November 11 at 10:30 a.m. from Fairview West
