Minor baseball begins this week in Swift Current.

Division evaluations are this week as about 215 players will take to the diamond to begin the ball season.

Bryce Martin is this year's Minor Baseball President.  He says the numbers are pretty much equal to last year with the Mosquito division being the largest with 87 participants.

Martin says July will be a big month of baseball in the city with three provincial championship tournaments.  The Mosquito, Pee Wee and Bantam divisions will all host the provincial tournament.

This weekend, Swift Current Minor Baseball hosted a skills camp.
