All four southwest high school football teams were in action Friday and Saturday, with a pair of wins, and a pair of losses.


6-man:

The Gull Lake Lions hosted the Central Butte Bulldogs in their first home game of the season, winning 55-12.

The Lions now sit at 2-1 in 1A Conference 3, and host LCBI this Wednesday.


9-man:

The Shaunavon Shadows hosted, and shutout the Fort Qu'Appelle Bisons 35-0 to climb to 2-1 on the season. They travel to Lumsden to take on the first-place Devils.

Meanwhile, the Maple Creek Redmen were on the road this week, taking on Indian Head. (picture below courtesy Brent Mason)

The Redmen left on the losing end of a 54-20 contest, and now sit at 1-3 in 2017.

They have a bye week this week, before heading to Lumsden on October 6.


12-man:

A long road trip east to Yorkton on Saturday for the Swift Current Comp Colts football team. The Colts dropped the contest to a strong Raiders squad 65-13, and are now 1-3 on the year.

Swift Current is back on the road this Saturday in a match up with the Moose Jaw Vanier Vikings.
