Both the Swift Current United Soccer Under-16 and Under-18 girls teams are provincial champions.

Hosting the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 2017 SaskTel Soccer for Life Outdoor Youth 11-aside Girls Provincial Championships, the hometown fans got to witness not one, but two gold medal performances for the Swift Current United Club.

The U-16 team finished the weekend with a 3-1 record but won when it mattered the most.

The team finished round robin play with a 2-1 record, thanks to victories over the Moose Jaw Storm (8-0) and Regina’s QC United (3-0), while dropping their lone game to Saskatoon's Aurora Majestic by a score of 2-0.

Their record was good enough for a spot in a gold medal game and a rematch against Aurora Majestic.

Leading 1-0 at the half, Swift Current put the game away with two second half goals, winning the provincial gold medal 3-0.

For the U-18 squad, they began went a perfect 2-0 in round robin play.

They defeated both Yorkton and North Battleford to clinch a spot in the provincial final.

In the gold medal game, Swift Current would, once again, come up against Yorkton.

Although able to score three goals on Yorkton in round robin, the offence was harder to come the second time around.

Neither team was able to score a goal during the match, as the game required penalty kicks.

In the end, Swift Current came out on the winning side to secure the Club's second gold medal of the weekend.
