It was a nice homecoming for new Prince Albert Raiders coach Marc Habscheid in Swift Current.

Reid Gardiner scored twice as his Raiders beat the Broncos 3-2 in the shootout.

It was the first time the Broncos have lost a game in the 2014-15 when leading after two periods of regulation. It was also their third shootout loss in the last five games.

Gardiner opened the scoring midway through the second period when a pass from behind the Swift Current net bounced right to him on the power play. The Broncos responded only 32 seconds later on a Jordan Harris one-timer.

It was the first goal of the season for the Prince Albert native.

Coda Gordon gave Swift Current their first lead of the game on a three on two rush with a minute to play in the second period. He led the rush after a nice play by Brycen Maritn to start it and fired his 11th of the season between the legs of Ryan Parenteau. The goal extended Gordon's point streak to thirteen games.

Gardiner tied the score midway through the third period when Ayton Nikkel slipped during a Prince Albert rush creating a breakaway.

The Broncos opened the shootout with a goal from Gordon. They held that lead until Craig Leverton scored with the third shot and eventually Simon Stransky notched the game winner. Stransky also had two assists on the night.

Landon Bow made 31 saves for the Broncos in a losing cause. Parenatau stopped 28 Swift Current shots.
