The Saskatchewan Amateur Golf Championships have been shortened to 54 holes due to rain.

Golfers at Royal Regina were unable to get on the course for round two of the Provincial tournament yesterday due to having too much rain and standing water on the course.

The Saskatchewan Golf Association has shortened the event from four rounds to three, with play resuming this morning.

Swift Current's Taylor Smith was the top local golfer after round one.  His two-over 74 has him five shots off the lead.
