Chicago is one step closer to repeating as Stanley Cup champions.

Patrick Kane scored in overtime as the Blackhawks edged the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in game six to advance to the Western Conference final. Kris Versteeg also scored for the Blackhawks and Corey Crawford made 34 saves.

Chicago must wait for the winner of the LA Kings-Anaheim Ducks series to wrap up before knowing its next opponent. The Ducks and and Kings play game six tonight at Staples Centre with Anaheim leading 3-2 (7:30pm, TSN).

scored the winning goal as New York edged the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in a deciding game seven.

The Rangers rallied from a 3-1 series deficit for the first time in their 88-year history and will face either Boston or Montreal. The Habs and Bruins play game seven of their series tonight at TD Garden (5:00pm, CBC).

In junior hockey, the field is set for the Memorial Cup in London. Detroit Red Wings draft pick Anthony Mantha scored the game winner in the final minute of regulation to lift the Val d'Or Foreurs to a 4-3 win over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar to win the QMJHL championship in seven games.

The Foreurs are off to the national championship along with the host London Knights, the OHL's Guelph Storm and the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings. The Memorial Cup kicks off on Friday with London facing Val d'Or, and then Edmonton faces Guelph on Saturday.

At the RBC Cup in Vernon, Swift Current's Daylan Gatzke and the Yorkton Terriers lost 5-2 to the Dauphin Kings to remain winless at the tournament. They face the Carleton Place Canadians in a must-win game tonight.
