The Saskatchewan Roughriders pounded the Edmonton Eskimos 55-9 in front of a sold-out crowd at Mosaic Stadium last night.

The Riders ran up the score with six touchdowns, including a 41-yard catch by rookie Weston Dressler. He was happy to get the blowout win, saying that everyone on the team played well to get the huge win so late in the season.

Starting QB Steven Jyles went 7 for 13 and threw two interceptions, before Michael Bishop took charge in the second half, inheriting a 33-6 halftime lead. Jyles did not know exactly why he was pulled, whether it was because of the turnovers or because Head Coach Ken Miller wanted Bishop to play to get ready for the playoffs.

Following the game, Miller confirmed that Bishop will start in Thursday's regular season finale against Toronto, and will possibly be the starter through the playoffs depending on his performance.

The win means the Riders will play out of the west in the Grey Cup playoffs, and will face the BC Lions in the west semi-final Saturday, November 8, in either Regina or Vancouver.

Because of BC's 55-32 win over Toronto in the late game, the Riders must beat the Argos and BC must lose to Calgary for the Green and White to host their second-straight home playoff game.
