The reshaping of the Saskatchewan Roughriders' roster continued on Tuesday as the Green and White acquired two veteran defensive backs in a trade with the Calgary Stampeders.

The Riders added international DB Fred Bennett and national DB Jeff Hecht from the Stamps in exchange for two negotiation list players.

Bennett – six-foot-one, 197 lbs – is in his fifth CFL season after originally joining the Stampeders before the 2012 season. He has 166 defensive tackles, ten interceptions and seven forced fumbles in 73 regular season games.

He was a 2014 West Division All-Star and won the 2014 Grey Cup championship with the Stamps.

Hecht is coming to the Riders in the middle of his sixth CFL season. The five-foot-nine, 205 lbs defensive back has played the past five seasons with Calgary, winning the Grey Cup there in 2014.

The 30-year-old has 50 defensive tackles and 37 special teams tackles in 73 career regular season games.

The 1-6 Riders are back on the field Tuesday preparing to face Hamilton on Saturday.
