There wasn't much to cheer about for the Riders in their first pre-season game of the season last night in Edmonton.

The Eskimos cruised to a 45-12 win at Commonwealth Stadium.  The Eskimos had more than 500 yards in net offence, while allowing just 178 yards.

The lone Riders' touchdown came on a seven-yard run from QB Steven Jyles in the second quarter.  Jason Clermont led all Rider receivers with four catches, totalling 54 yards.

The game was close at half-time, as the Eskimos led 14-10.  The Riders fumbled the opening kick-off in the second half, which led to an Eskimo touchdown to open the game up.

The Riders will wrap up the pre-season schedule on Tuesday when they host the Calgary Stampeders.
