It was cut-down day in the Canadian Football League Saturday with all teams scrambling to finalize their initial 46-man rosters.

    The Riders released 20 players from the football club Saturday (imp denotes imports):

    WR Ryan Bagley (imp), DE Dek Bake (imp), DB Jeremy Burnett (imp), DB Reggie Bradshaw, DE Matthew Chatelain (imp), DT Brent Curvey (imp), DB Dre Dokes (imp), OL Ryan Freeman, RB Quentin Griffin (imp), DB Denetay Heard (imp), WR Brian Hernandez (imp), DE Devon Hicks (imp), DB Tad Kornegay (imp), DB Brandon Lynch (imp), WR Vincent Marshall (imp), QB Teale Orban, LB Brock Stratton (imp), DT Jimmy Verdon (imp), DB EJ Whitley (imp) and DB Jeff Zelinski.

    RB Henri Childs (imp), OL Amariah Farrow (imp), RB Stu Foord, WR Chris Getzlaf, DB Airabin Justin (imp) and OL Steve Morley were placed on the one-game injured list, and will miss the Riders season opener against the Eskimos on Saturday.

   On the nine-game injured list are WR David McKoy, OL Jean Francois Morin-Roberge and QB Drew Tate (imp). Those players will not see action until at least the end of August.

   Import Wide Receivers Mike Washington and Matt Dominguez were both put on the disabled list, as both players are still recovering from injuries.
