Corey Chamblin seems to be able to find the positive in everything, which is why it was no surprise that Wednesday's wet practice at Mosaic Stadium wasn't a problem for the third-year head coach.

“It's a plus and what I mean by that, I tell the guys, it's all about how you handle situations,” said Chamblin.  “The quarterbacks if they fumble the ball (Wednesday), well if we play in a wet game, they're going to have to be able to field those balls, same with the running backs and defence.

“It could be a negative, but we try to turn it into a positive.”

The Saskatchewan Roughriders were delayed initially from getting on the field thanks to lightning in the area and then when they finally did get on the field, they had to deal with rain throughout the practice.

Chamblin thought it was a good test for the team heading into their final preseason game on Friday.

“I wanted to see how they handled the situations,” he said.  “The team we had towards the end of last year, I thought they did a very good job of handling the situations, especially the weather, and I wanted to see how this team would handle it and they did very good.”

As the team continues to prepare for the season, Wednesday was a big early season lesson.

“It's just about making sure that this team is prepared for every situation and on and off the field just try to make sure that these guys are winners,” said Chamblin.

There's still a lot of questions surrounding the Roughriders as they head into their final preseason game against the Eskimos.  Chamblin is looking forward to seeing what the team will bring to that game.

“There's not a lot of prep for the team we're going to play, but the thing I'm looking for is seeing the guys effort, seeing how they play and seeing how they win their one-on-one match-ups.”

The Riders will hold their final walkthrough at Mosaic Stadium on Thursday morning and then host the Eskimos at 7:00pm on Friday night.

Riders News & Notes:

-- Dwight Anderson wasn't participating in practice again on Wednesday, but Chamblin is expecting him to play come Friday.  He said if Anderson is on the field for the walkthrough on Thursday, he'll play.

-- Chris Getzlaf has been practicing this week, but won't play on Friday as he continues to recover from a quad injury.  Chamblin feels Getzlaf could play, but they will hold him out as a precaution.
