The Saskatchewan Roughriders improved to a 6-2 record after a 39-32 win over Edmonton Saturday, while also re-acquiring a familiar face over the weekend.

The game was plagued by a thunderstorm that evening, but a sold-out crowd at Mosaic Stadium braved rain, a power failure, and a 55-minute weather delay in the 4th Quarter.

The Riders trailed the Eskimos 27-32 when the game was delayed. A refreshed Riders squad returned to the field and went ahead with a Luca Congi field goal and a Kerry Joseph touchdown.

The Riders' next game is the Labour Day Classic against Winnipeg.

Also over the weekend, a big trade was reached between the Riders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  Returning to Saskatchewan will be Slotback Corey Holmes.  Heading out to Hamilton will be Receiver/Kick Returner Jason Armstead.
