After a season opening loss to the Swift Current Yard Goats, the Cabri River Rats found their way into the win column Monday night in Sask-Alta Baseball League action.

Cabri picked up their first win of the 2017 season with a 9-5 victory in Gull Lake over the Greyhounds.

The River Rats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning.

However, the lead was short-lived as Gull Lake answered with a five-run bottom of the 5th.

After Cabri tied the game 5-5 in the top of the 6th, they cashed in four more runs in the top of the 7th to secure the win.

With the victory, the River Rats move to 1-1 on the season, while the Greyhounds fell to 1-1.

Next up for each team, Cabri will play host to the Shaunavon Badgers on Thursday, while Gull Lake welcomes the Climax Cardinals on Monday.
