The gap continues to grow between the Kabos Bantam AA Broncos and the rest of their south division opponents in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League.

Swift Current has now won eight straight to start the season and sit nine points clear of second place Notre Dame in the SBAAHL's south division - although Notre Dame has played three fewer games to this point.

The eighth win of the season came last night on the road against the winless Regina Aces (0-4-1).

Bantam Broncos forward Kalan Lind opened the scoring just under 14 minutes into the game with his fifth of the season on a feed from captain Hayden Wilm and defenceman Orin Olson.

The lead was increased to 2-0 in the last three minutes of the opening period, as Keagon Little scored his sixth goal of the season for his team-leading 18th point. Noah Wills and Cash Arntsen both recorded assists on the play.

Both teams traded goals in the second period. Regina cut the lead in half with 6:33 left in the middle frame, but that goal was responded to just 27 seconds later as this time Lind set up Wilm for his team-high ninth goal.

Once again Regina flirted with the comeback in the third, as their second of the game cut the lead to 3-2 with 18:34 still left to play.

That would be as close as they'd get to taking down the unbeaten Broncos.

Arntsen set up Kane Klassen with 5:31 to go, and then with 33 seconds left and a vacancy in the Aces net, Jaydon Jessiman took the feed from Brady Wilson and Ryan McCleary to give Swift Current the 5-2 win.

Goalie Vincent Pinsonneault got the win in net for the Bantam Broncos, stopping 26 of 28 shots.

The Kabos Bantam AA Broncos are now back at Fairview West on Saturday, as they welcome the Regina Monarchs (3-2) to the southwest.
