Aaron Rome (28) elbows Devante Smith-Pelly during the second period of last night's game between Vancouver and Anaheim

It looks like former Swift Current Broncos defenceman Aaron Rome will not be suspended after delivering a questionable hit in last night game between his Vancouver Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks.

Rome delivered an apparent head-shot on Anaheim's Devante Smith-Pelley last night, and received a five-minute major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct. Smith-Pelley eventually returned to the game as the Ducks beat Vancouver 4-3.

The NHL reportedly said Saturday that Rome will not receive any supplemental discipline for the hit, adding that the major and misconduct assessed in the game was adequate.

Rome was previously suspended four games for an illegal hit on Boston's Nathan Horton in game four of last season's Stanley Cup Final. He missed the rest of that series, which the Bruins won in seven games.

Rome had a hot streak on the other side of the scoresheet, scoring two goals in two straight games for the Canucks before last night.
