Starting today it will be a busy next few days at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex in Swift Current.

While Broncos hit the ice so to do 22 under-18 curling teams competing in the provincial championship.

Karen Biese, Chairperson of the event, said it will be a really busy weekend for all the volunteers.

"This is a really big deal for the kids," she said. "We have clocks so the men's and women's games are timed and we also have a mixed open division and they aren't timed but we do have scorekeepers out there."

Both the men's and women's draws will include eight teams and the open draw will have six teams competing.

All three of the draws will feature a team southwest will all three curling out of the Moose Jaw rink.

Skyler Ackerman's team will represent the southwest in the women's draw and Brett Behm's team will be team southwest on the men's side.

The winner of the men's and women's draw will move onto nationals in St. Andrews, New Brunswick that runs from April 9-14.
