Day 4 of the Sask Winter Games in North Battleford saw a busy first day of the second stint of events on the schedule:
Weightlifting:
Erin Andres wins Gold in 75kg + Female with an Olympic Total of 78
Daylin Olfert wins Bronze in 75kg+ Female with an Olympic Total of 74
Badminton:
Team South West went 1-2 in Pool B of U-19 Mixed Team competition on Thursday. They defeated Team South East 7-2 in Team Match 1, but lost 6-3 to Team Regina and 6-3 to Team Rivers West to close the day.
They are into the playoff round today.
Special Olympics Bowling:
Team South West #2 (Swift Current) is 1-1 after Day 1 of 2 in Team Co-Ed competition. They defeated Team North, but lost to Team Saskatoon. South West #2 have a busy Day 2 ahead of them, as the Swift Current squad will play four games.
Cross Country Skiing:
Team South West's lone athlete in the sports, Mackenzie McIntyre (Swift Current), finished 10th in the Senior Female 8km Interval Start Classic, with a time of 53:14.0
Figure Skating:
Sierra Frey (Maple Creek) placed 13th in Free Skate - Class 1 Female
Women's Hockey:
Team South West went 0-2 in Day 1 of Pool A play with losses of 4-3 to Team Regina, and 5-0 to Team Prairie Central. They play Team Rivers West today.
Snowboarding:
Kenzie Gates (Swift Current) won Silver in Slopestyle Day 1 U17 Female with a score of 26.3 in the finals.
Nikhil Pool (Swift Current) finished 14th in Slopestyle Day 1 U17 Male with a score of 33.7 in the Qualification Round.
Wrestling:
Day 1 Wrestling results for Team South West in the Individual Competition are still being entered and submitted on the Sask Winter Games site. Results will be updated once completed.
