Saskatchewan skip Stefanie Lawton after making her final shot in the tenth to pick up the win over Nova Scotia on Tuesday night. It has come down to the last rock for Stefanie Lawton and Team Saskatchewan over the past two days, but when it’s mattered, Lawton hasn’t missed.

Lawton drew to the button with her final shot on Tuesday night to give Saskatchewan a 6-5 win over Mary-Anne Arsenault and Team Nova Scotia. That win also improves their record to 4-2 thanks to three straight wins at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw.

“In the ninth end, things just weren’t going our way, we got one in the back there, so we’re like, ‘Okay, if I don’t make my shot, we can get our deuce in ten,’ and that’s what we ended up doing,” said Lawton after picking up the win to end Draw 10.

The Saskatchewan squad set up the tenth end perfectly with lead Marliese Kasner, second Stephanie Schmidt and third Sherri Anderson all nailing their shots.

Lawton was a little heavy on her first shot, but a miss from Arsenault allowed Lawton to hit for two and the win.

“We just said eight more shots and lets go out there and do ‘er, so my team played great that end,” said Lawton.

After fighting to a 1-2 record to start the event with the two losses coming to Manitoba and Canada.  Saskatchewan has rebounded now and moved itself into sole possession of fourth place, just behind Rachel Homan, who’s 4-1.

Outside of Tuesday night’s game, the Saskatchewan rink has steadily seen their percentages increase throughout the week as well.  As expected, they sit fourth overall through ten draws in team shooting percentage.

“We’re sitting pretty good considering how we started the tournament and the teams we played, so I feel pretty good with where we’re at,” said Lawton.  “We’re just going to have to keep on chugging because we’ve got the second half here to go.”

Lawton and Saskatchewan will be back on the ice for a pair of games on Wednesday.  They take on Newfoundland & Labrador (3-4) at 2:00pm and Northern Ontario (3-3) in the night draw at 7:00pm at Mosaic Place.
