Sixteen-year-old Defenseman Reece Scarlett is one of the new young defenseman the team is developing this season.

The Sherwood Park, AB, native found himself on the ice for the starting line-ups Friday night, paired with veteran Eric Doyle in the season opener.

The Broncos' first round Bantam pick from 2008 doesn't feel that he will be a burden to the team as a rookie defenseman.  "I'm escatic to be playing.  I don't feel out of place out there.  Hopefully it can stay that way all season."

Besides Scarlett, the Broncos also have rookie 16-year-old Graeme Craig, and 17-year-old Brody Luhning on the roster.

The Broncos play in Prince Albert on Wednesday night before heading to Brandon to play the Wheat Kings on Friday.  They host Lethbridge on Saturday night.
