The Swift Current 57's capitalized on some sloppy baseball by the visiting Yorkton Cardinals en route to their sixth-straight victory last night at home.

Seven defensive errors by the Cardinals aided the 57's, as they doubled up the Cardinals 14-7.

That being said, defensive errors weren't the key to Swift's win, as once again it was a red-hot night at the plate for second baseman Ruben Rodriguez.

A crowd of 605 at Mitchell Field witness Rodriguez go 3-for-5, ripping three doubles, and four RBI, scoring four runs on the night.

The speedy 5-foot-6 infielder has now gone 7-for-10 with five doubles, and six RBI in his last two games.

Other big performances came from catcher Ben Komonosky who went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, third baseman Mitch Dean who had two RBI on his lone hit, and designated hitter Myles Miller who had three hits and a pair of RBI.

It was also a dominant outing on the mound for reliever Keil Krumwiede, as he pitched 3-1/3 innings of scoreless ball, surrendering just a hit and a walk, while striking out six Cardinals batters.

The 57's (20-17) go for their seventh-straight win as they head east to Moose Jaw to take on the Miller Express (18-17) tonight.

A win would help widen the gap between the Eastern Division's third-place 57's and fourth-place Miller Express, with just 11 games remaining in the 2018 regular season.

First pitch at Ross Wells Park is 7:05 p.m.
