Swift Current Comprehensive High School Track Field

Track and Field season is in full swing and the Swift Current Comprehensive High School looks to have some strong athletes competing in numerous events this year.

The Comp Colts and Ardens attended the Moose Jaw Invitational Track and Field meet last weekend.

Comp Track Coach Mandi Tuplin says they had a few stand-out performances.

"Some notable performances on the weekend were from Winston Tschetter. He is performing really well right now in the jumps and the 100m," says Tuplin. "Another one to note is Tori Carlson. She is currently undefeated in the 400m, 800m and 1500m. Dominic Vallee is performing really well in the 100m, 200m and 400m. Tenille Gering is rounding out our distance field."

Sectionals happen this Monday with 42 athletes from the Comp participating. The District meet follows on Wednesday, May 23.

"We've got pretty much every event covered [in Sectionals], so we're hoping to send at least one [to Districts] in every event," explains Tuplin. "Hopefully we don't have to drop too many off going into the Districts. Obviously at the District level it's a bigger competition so it's a little bit harder, but I think if we can shoot for a team of 25 or so I think we'd be pretty happy."
