Taylor Kirwan and Team Canada are off to the semi finals of the U18 Women's World Championship after a 3-1 quarter-final win over the Czech Republic this morning.

The Diamond Energy Wildcats captain had one shot on net in the game and a 0 +/-, playing alongside fellow Saskatchewan product, and former Saskatoon Stars captain Willow Slobodzian on the third defensive pairing.

The Canadians now face the United States in the semis - the Americans beat Canada 6-2 Tuesday morning in the round robin.

Puck drop in that semi-final game is tomorrow morning at 3:30 p.m. in Dmitrov, Russia, or 6:30 a.m. Saskatchewan time.

The other semi will see Sweden play the winner of a Russia-Finland quarter-final.
