Sunday afternoon marked the official unveiling of Sharon Hogg Field.
A large crowd was on hand, as the north Mosquito Diamond was re-named.
Attending the presentation was the late Sharon Hogg's husband Neil Hogg, along with his son Tim and granddaughter Natalie.
Neil said sharing that moment with family was truly special.
"It was really fun, I liked it. Throwing out the first pitch and then giving the ball to my granddaughter so she could throw it to her dad, she was quite excited. Even though she is 4, she understood and she had a good time." he said.
The ceremony took place just prior to the Swift Current Mosquito 'AA' Indians claiming the provincial title in the fields inaugural game, which Hogg felt was very fitting.
"That was special, to have them win for their 5th year in a row. The kids were excited, and I know she (Sharon) would have been really excited if she had been around, but she is probably looking down on us." added Hogg.
Reflecting back on Sunday's ceremony, Neil said everything went very well.
"They did a really good job, doing it all. It was very nice, and we were quite proud and honoured to have it done." said Hogg.
The honours for the late Sharon Hogg will continue next month. On August 15, she will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.
