The Swift Current Comp Sr Colts volleyball team earned a silver medal to close out their 2018 tournament season.

On the road in Yorkton, the Sr Colts went 3-1 in the round robin. They topped Melville in three sets, Moose Jaw Central in two sets, Yorkton Sacred Heart in two sets, but fell to Weyburn in a trio of sets.

Swift Current finished second in their pool, and faced off with Moose Jaw Vanier in the quarters.

The Sr Colts slid by Vanier with ease, needing two sets. A three-set thriller of a semi-final over Estevan pushed the Colts to the final.

However, Swift Current were bested by the hosts from Yorkton in three sets in the final.

"I was happy with the results as both my starting left side players (Henry Rempel and Clay Thierman) were out with injuries," said Colts' Head Coach Dan Andrie. "I had two grade tens (Shaye Wall and Jesse Patzer) play in their place and they did great."

The starting six looks to be back in time for their SHSAA 5A Boys South Regional this coming weekend.

The Sr Colts head to Weyburn, battling with Moose Jaw Central, Moose Jaw Peacock, Estevan, Balgonie, Yorkton, and the hosts for a spot in Provincials.
