Zack Smith responds to media questions on game seven

One team keeps the dream alive and the other has a whole summer to think about how they came up short.

It's Game 7 tonight in two first round NHL playoff series.

Former Bronco Zack Smith and the Ottawa Senators are in New York to play the Rangers.

"All hockey players dream of being in game seven," the Maple Creek native said. "Scoring the winning goal to keep your team alive or win a championship. What can I say? It's game seven, we're just excited to be there."

Smith will lean on his experience as part of the AHL Calder Cup winning team in Binghamton last season.

"We were in enough of those situations last year," Smith said. "We had four overtime wins in the first round and two of them were game sevens."

The Senators have not won a game seven in modern franchise history.

Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers can win their first playoff series since 1996 as they host New Jersey for game seven of their first round battle.
