High School Soccer 3A Provincials kick off tomorrow with the Swift Current Comp. Ardens and Colts going for gold.

The Ardens won the Moose Jaw league for the fourth straight year and start their tournament in Weyburn tomorrow against Regina Campbell.

They beat Regina Campbell at a tournament earlier this season and are confident they can compete with them.

"They are a good solid team," said Ardens Coach Dale Perry. "They don't have any superstar players that we need to worry about who can change the game. So it is really going to be who can control the ball in bad conditions."

Perry adds the cold, icy weather can often make it a game of who makes fewer mistakes.

Perry is also confident in aspects of the match up.

"Their forwards are quick, but not super quick. Our defence has been very strong over the year, I'm very happy with our defence. So unless mistakes are made, I think we can control them."

Meanwhile, the Comp. Colts are hosting the boys provincials.

They open tomorrow at 11am against Saskatoon St. Joseph on Irwin Field South.

You have to win your opening game to have any shot at a gold medal.
