The CCA rodeo circuit stopped in Consul this past weekend.

The southwest scattered the leaderboard on each event, racking up nine top-three finishes.

The lone first place effort was a dominant one in Team Roping.

The father-son duo of Scott McLeod (Heeler) and Tee McLeod from Waldeck blew the competition away. Their time of 5.3 seconds stood 1.2 seconds ahead of second-place, earning the duo a cheque for $2732.40

Coming in third place in Team Roping was the Maple Creek team of Nolan Jans and Shelton Udal (Heeler). Jans and Udal finished with a time of 6.6 seconds, good for $2019.60.

Multiple top-three finishes were earned by southwest competitors in Saddle Bronc as well.

Piapot's Casey Bertram earned $756 for his second-place finish with a score of 74. And, in a tie for third place was Mike Gordon of Maple Creek. He scored 72, earning $519.75.

A score of 76 earned hometown-product Monty Koopman a T-3 finish in Bareback. The Consul native earned $326.70 for the mid-70s mark.

Also tied for third in his respective event was Val Marie's Riley Hayes. Hayes posted a mark of 4.7 seconds in Steer Wrestling to take home $683.10.

Novice Bull Riding saw Abbey's Blake Smith finish in sole possession of third. Smith scored 75, earning him $216.

A pair of barrel racers each finished third as well.

In Ladies Barrel Racing, Taryn Parsonage of Maple Creek placed third with a time of 16.56 seconds. The mark was just a tenth of a second back of a two-way tie for first, and eight-hundredths away from dropping into a four-way tie for seventh/last place. Parsonage earned $1071 for her effort.

And, along with a win at the Herbert Stampede over the weekend, Maple Creek's Logan Resch placed third in Consul in Junior Girls Barrel Racing. She finished in a time of 16.96 seconds, taking home $239.40.

The next southwest stop on the CCA circuit is this coming weekend for the 42nd Kyle Community Rodeo, running August 11-12.
