With some post-secondary football seasons already underway, a pile of southwest talent is on rosters across the province.

Winners of the last three Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) titles, the Saskatoon Hilltops are already off to a 2-0 start to 2017. Among those on the roster for the defending champs in 2017 are former Swift Current Colts offensive linemen Johnathan Chisholm and Cole Shatosky. Chisholm is in his second year, while Shatosky is a redshirt rookie on the team.

Also in the Prairie Football Conference of the CJFL, the Regina Thunder roster is home to four former Colts.

Fifth-year offensive lineman Brock Myers, who won a national title in 2013 with the Thunder, is joined by second-year lineman Zachery Stenberg, rookie running back Tristan Lockman, and rookie linebacker Pearce Targerson-Jones.

Regina sits one game back of the Hilltops in the standings at 1-1 through two games.

Rounding out the southwest football talent is the lone player on a university roster.

Former Gull Lake Lions 6-man football player Jacob Anderson is headed into his second year of eligibility as a running back with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

Anderson and the Huskies head to McMaster University on Friday, August 25 for an exhibition game to kick off their 2017 season.
