Three southwest football teams were in action this past Friday.

In 9-man, the Shaunavon Shadows travelled to Maple Creek for a rematch under the lights, after Maple Creek Redmen took game one 28-19 in Shaunavon.

Shaunavon got even with a 38-18 win, bringing their record to 1-1 on the season, while Maple Creek falls to 1-2.

Both teams are in action this Friday when Shaunavon hosts Fort Qu' Appelle, while Maple Creek heads on the road to Indian Head.

In 6-man action, the Gull Lake Lions fell just short of a comeback in Caronport with a 51-44 loss, dropping them to 1-1.

The Lions host the Central Butte Bulldogs this Friday in their first home game of the season, looking for a similar result to week 1 when they beat the Bulldogs 59-0.
