A pair of Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires, a Midget AA Bronco, and a former Bantam AA Bronco are all off to the semi finals of the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Men's Hockey.

Team Sask topped Team Nova Scotia 6-3 in their quarter final in Red Deer yesterday evening.

Legionnaires forward Logan Linklater scored Team Sask's second goal in the win. He's now tied for the team lead with four in as many games.

Also logging ice time in the win were Legionnaires defenceman Joe Arntsen and Central Butte born forward Hayden Wilm, who currently plays for the Saskatoon Blazers in the SMAAAHL.

Midget AA Broncos goalie Justin Dueck has been backing up Saskatoon Blazers netminder Brett Mirwald so far this tournament, though if called upon, his 1.50 GAA in league play this season should be a mark of confidence for the coaching staff.

Team Sask's berth in the semis is the first since the 1995 Canada Winter Games in Grande Prairie, Alberta - eight years before this crop of '03s were even born.

Saskatchewan now looks to a semi-final fight against Team Quebec at 5 p.m. Sask time today.

The other semi pits Swift Current Broncos assistant coach Brandin Cote and Team Alberta against Team Ontario. Cote also serves as an assistant on the host team's staff. That game gets underway at 8:30 p.m. Sask time.
