The Broncos held their annual Black & White game on Monday night

A couple of two goal efforts highlighted a spirited Broncos Black & White game Monday night.

Veteran walk-on Ryan Moser sprung Adam Lowry on a breakaway for his second goal of the night and the eventual game winner in a 6-5 win for Team White.

Lowry wasn't the only forward with multiple goals. 15-year-old Chris Koukis turned some heads with two goals in a losing cause for Team Black.

Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb was impressed by what he saw of the late round bantam draft pick throughout camp.

"He's just been outstanding," Lamb Said.

"You put him in a bigger game... with some more veterans and it doesn't phase him at all."

Koukis and the other 1996 born players will return to their midget clubs after tonight's rookie game against Moose Jaw. It is the only chance outside of call-ups for Bronco fans to see highly touted propsects like Brycen Martin and Zack Gonek in competition against another WHL squad this season.

Team White looked comfortably in control of the inter-squad game with leads of 2-1 after the first and 4-2 after the secod period. Lowry's second goal gave them their largest lead of the night at 6-3.

Black made a strong push with late goals by Jordan Peddle and Trevor Cameron. They had the puck deep in White territory in the final minute with the net empty, but a pass skipped over defenceman Graeme Craig's stick and the comeback fell short.

"The pushback at the end was really exicting," said Lamb.

"It's good to see teams when they're down come back and that's the type of team we want to be."

The game didn't have a ton of fire early, but picked up after a scrap between veterans Cameron and Jordan Evans in the second period. The quick tilt was the only fight of the game.

Washington Capitals prospect Steffen Soberg played the first half for Team Black and allowed 2 goals on 14 shots. Free agent goaltender Danny Todosychuk got the win for Team White after allowing 4 goals on 23 shots int he second half of the game.

16-year-old Landon Bow put stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced while 2011 bantam pick Alec Dillon allowed 4 goals on 12 shots. Dillon made the save of the game when he dove across his crease to take a sure goal away from Taylor Vause.

Lowry, Andy Blanke, Josh Derko, Jacob Schofield and Sine Chadi scored for Team White. Koukis, Peddle, Cameron and Trey Phillips responded for Team Black.

The game was also a win for a good cause as $2 from every ticket sold went towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Game time for the Broncos/Warriors rookie game is 7pm on Tuesday night at the Credit Union iPlex.
