The waiting is almost over.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals is ahead tonight between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins.

It will be youth versus experience for hockey's biggest prize, with 20-year-old Penguins' Captain Sidney Crosby looking for his first Stanley Cup, in just his third year in the NHL.  Meanwhile, the Red Wings have 10 previous Cup winners on their squad, compared to just three for the Penguins.

From the hockey infirmary, Red Wings' Centre Johan Franzen will sit out due to a head injury, and Chris Chelios is also expected to miss tonight's game with an apparent leg injury.  Pittsburgh's Gary Roberts will be a healthy scratch tonight, something the 42-year-old Winger was none too happy about.

You can hear this, and every game of the Stanley Cup Final, on The Eagle 94.1FM, with the pre-game show from Joe Louis Arena set for 5:45pm.
