It's an exciting time of year for the Swift Current ACT/UCT Stringrays Swim Club.

The team began their 2017 season this past weekend in Regina, sending eight athletes to the Regina Piranhas Invitational Swim Meet.

Taking place on Saturday, the Stingrays coaching staff was pleased to see a lot of their members set new personal bests.

Talyah Cuthbert, Eric Lloyd, Sophie Regier, Ryan Dickie, Ezra Lloyd, Megan Froese, Taylor Dickie and Luke Regier all competed at the event.

"All athletes challenged themselves in one way or another, through longer distance races, goal setting, or giving new strokes a try," said Tiffany Powell. "New personal bests were set, and have indicated incredible talent within the Stingray’s Club.

The team's next meet will take place in Biggar and Rosetown on July 8th and 9th.

The Stringrays will host their home meet on July 22nd.
