Although their opening game is not officially over yet, Team Saskatchewan appears to be off to a strong start at the 13U National Baseball Championship in London, Ontario.

Stuck in the seventh inning of play, Team Sask. currently holds a 17-9 lead over Quebec squad, Rive-Sud, as the game has been suspended due to rain.

The completion of the contest is expected to take place Friday morning.

Swift Current's Ethan Murdoch made is presence felt during the game.

Trailing 9-7, Ethan hit a go-ahead three run home run, which sparked the offense to later add seven more runs.

Following the completion of their game against Rive-Sud, Saskatchewan is scheduled to play another two games Thursday.
