A new study reveals how much of a financial impact a WHL franchise like the Broncos can have on a community.

The study by UBC Okanagan Professor Kenneth Carlaw pegged the annual direct economic impact of the Rockets on Kelowna at nearly $4 million.

The report also states the indirect impact is $31 million.

The study was commissioned by the Rockets.

Similar work in 2009 pegged the annual impact of the Blades in Saskatoon at $10.8 million.
