Basketball season is underway for the Great Plains College SunDogs.
They went 1-2 at at PAC tournament in Saskatoon over the weekend.
The SunDogs opened up with a 59-52 loss to Moose Jaw Palliser (SIAST). Jon Neustaeter and Ian Hayes led the way for Great Plains college with 13 points each, while Ben Degala and Marshall Siemens put in 8. Marty Funk had 6 rebounds and added 4 points.
In their second game the Sundogs took down Bethany College 65-58. Ian Hayes had16 pointsand 13 rebounds for a double-double. Marty Funk also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Against Kelsey in the third game, the SunDogs led 35-30 early in the 3rd quarter, but struggled scoring in the second half and lost 59-40. Jon Neustaeter and Ian Hayes each led the SunDogswith 11 points, while Ian added 6 rebounds. Marshall Siemens added 9 points and Marty Funk had a team high 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The SunDogs are now getting set to host the next PAC tournament on February 7th and 8th.
