The Great Plains College SunDogs men’s and women’s volleyball teams wrapped up their sixth Prairie Athletic Conference season Saturday, finishing fourth and fifth respectively at PAC Provincials in Prince Albert.

On the men’s side, the SunDogs opened Friday with a straight sets win over the Bethany Eagles (25-16, 25-17, 25-18). They carried their momentum over to Saturday’s opener, winning their first two sets against the Millar Edge before losing PAC All-Star Gerod Wiens to an ankle injury and Millar rallied to win in five (22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-10).

The men went on to drop the bronze medal match to the host Woodland Wild in straight sets (25-18, 25-23, 25-22).

On the women’s side, the SunDogs lost in four sets Friday to Millar (25-23, 12-25, 28-26, 28-26) and straight sets Saturday to Bethany (27-25, 25-11, 25-19), before beating Woodland in straight sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-21) in the fifth-place match.

SunDogs power hitter Adrianna Hoffman was named a PAC All-Star, along with Wiens, at Friday’s awards banquet and women’s coach Morgan Montgomery was named Coach of the Year.
