A big crowd enjoys the action at O.M. Irwin School in Swift Current
For the first time in six tries, the Great Plains College men's SunDogs volleyball team w on the Battle of the Southwest.
They took down the Millar Edge 25-23, 25-14, 25-22 on Wednesday night. The SunDogs are now 7-0 in Prairie Athletic Conference play this year.
The women's SunDogs put up a tremendous fight, but dropped their side of the Battle of the Southwest 22-25, 25-19, 26-24 and 29-27.
The Southwest Cup had normally been played as an exhibition contest between Great Plains and Millar, but this year they worked it into their regular conference schedule.
Both SunDogs teams head to Prince Albert for league matches this weekend against the Woodland Wild.
